Srinagar, Aug 06 (KNO): In a commendable initiative aimed at promoting national integration and broadening the horizons of young minds, DIG SKR Anantnag Javid Iqbal Matoo-IPS flagged off a group of 80 students for a Bharat Darshan tour. The students, hailing from various schools across district Anantnag, will visit prominent historical and cultural landmarks in Mumbai and Kolkata, a police spokesman said in a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO). The flag-off ceremony was held with great enthusiasm at District Police Lines Anantnag, where SSP Anantnag Amritpal Singh and other officers were also present, who extended their best wishes to the students. This educational tour, under the Civic Action Programme of Jammu and Kashmir Police, is designed to expose students to the diverse cultural heritage and development of the country. It provides an opportunity for the youth to learn about the history, culture, and progress of different regions, thereby fostering a sense of unity and national pride. Speaking on the occasion, DIG SKR emphasized the importance of such exposure visits in shaping the personality of young students and instilling in them values of discipline, confidence, and patriotism. SSP Anantnag also encouraged the students to make the most of this opportunity and return with enriching experiences and new perspectives.
